Mobile Medical Van/Unit

Mobile Medical Services is quintessential for facilitating primary health care for the vulnerable and underserved communities. Under the National Health Mission, we have been successfully running Mobile Medical Van and Unit (MMV & MMU) in the state of Rajasthan since 2008.

Services Offered

  • Health Education (behavior change, sanitation, nutrition, RTI’s, STI’s, prohibition of sex selection, avoid tobacco use).

  • Curative services for minor ailments including fever, diarrhea, ARI, worm infestation, early detection of TB, malaria, leprosy, Kala-Azar.

  • Other local endemic communicable diseases and non-communicable diseases (diabetes, hypertension, cardiovascular disease etc)

  • Maternal Health (Antenatal care, Postnatal care).

  • Child Health (newborn care, vaccination, prophylaxis, prevention of malnutrition, diarrhea etc).

  • Referrals of complicated cases and their follow up status.

  • Family planning services (counseling, methods, surgery etc)

  • Emergency and epidemic services

  • Diagnostic services (X-ray, ECG, TLC, DLC, ESR, Hemoglobin, blood sugar, BT, CT, pregnancy tests and urine tests)

We have successfully operated more than 300 MMU/MMVs across 19 districts in Rajasthan.

Target Location

All the MMU and MMV conduct monthly 20 free health check-up camps in different villages. We organize camps mainly in class “C” villages where there are no medical and health services available to them. The key objectives of the project is to provide regular primary health services in desert/tribal/inaccessible/villages/regions/blocks in all the districts of Rajasthan and supplement the existing health system to provide free of cost health services in the far flung areas on regular monthly basis.

Manpower

Mobile unit team consists of one full time medical officer, one nurse, one lab technician, one Pharmacist, two driver and one helper with a mobile bus furnished with medical equipment and laboratory testing equipment’s.
